About Us

The Climbers Inn

The Climbers Inn Glencar, dates back to 1879, it is one of the oldest walking and climbing establishments in Ireland. Located in glorious woodland setting right in the centre of Glencar, in the heart of the Reeks District. It retains much of its old world charm to this day.

Our aunt Sheila O’Sullivan had been very successfully running the Inn for the past 16 years but she sadly passed away in January 2018. She was a very well-liked and respected lady and always had a warm welcome for anyone who came through the door. Her family are now running the Inn and our hope is to continue the good reputation.

Newly refurbished rooms

The Climbers Inn has been extensively refurbished throughout providing excellent en-suite rooms, newly renovated hostel and a drying room for wet clothes and kit, along with bar with shop and post office on site also.

With affordable, spacious and clean rooms The Climbers Inn affords our guests an ideal starting point for exploring the McGillycuddy’s Reeks, The Kerry Way and surrounding areas.

Traditional Bar Food & Drink Options

After a days sightseeing or climbing what better way to relax with some pub grub washed down with the finest pint of Guinness in Kerry. Relax in our newly refurbished traditional bar with its welcoming stove fire and enjoy the atmosphere which attracts both locals and visitors alike.

Whether seated inside next to the cosy fire on a winters day or relaxing in the summer sunshine on our outdoor tables you can expect great friendly service. We have 2 big screen tvs for all major sporting events along with a darts board.
