Climbers Inn Accommodation
The Climbers Inn Glencar dating back to 1879 is one of the oldest walking and climbing establishments in Ireland and is located in glorious woodland setting right in the centre of Glencar. It still retains much of its old world charm which help to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Our aunt Sheila O’Sullivan had been very successfully running the Inn for the past 16 years but she sadly passed away in January 2018. She was a very well-liked and respected lady and always had a warm welcome for anyone who came through the door. Her family are now running the Inn and our hope is to continue the good reputation.
Newly refurrbished rooms
The Climbers Inn has been extensively refurbished throughout providing excellent en-suite rooms, newly renovated hostel and a drying room for wet clothes and kit, along with bar with shop and post office on site also.
With affordable, spacious and clean rooms the Climbers Inn affords our guests an ideal starting point for exploring the McGillycuddy’s reeks and surrounding areas.
After a days sightseeing/climbing what better way to relax with some pub grub washed down with the finest pint of Guinness in Kerry. Relax in our newly refurbished lounge bar with its welcoming stove fire and enjoy the atmosphere which attracts both locals and visitors alike.
Whether seated inside next to the cosy fire on a winters day or relaxing in the summer sunshine on our outdoor tables you can expect great friendly service. We have 2 big screen tvs for all major sporting events along with a pool table and darts board.
We can also cater for large or small groups with a set menu of your choice or finger food.
